ACP stands for Autologous Conditioned Plasma Arthrex ACP.
You can use ACP plasma for the treatment of e.g. inflamed tendons, muscle joints cartilage damage, and osteochondritis/osteoarthritis. Arthrex ACP injections help the healing process after an orthopedic procedure such as cruciate ligament surgery. With this treatment, you can reduce the amount of medication, or completely remove them.
Procedure: We use a small amount of blood from the patient which we take with a specially made needle and syringe. The blood is centrifuged for 5 minutes, which separates the plasma from the blood. The plasma is injected into the injured joint or tendons/muscles.
To get the best results, the patient often needs several treatments, how many treatments are needed is different for each patient. The treatments usually take place at 5-7 day intervals.
