SHOP

Connected to our reception you will find our shop. In the shop, we have accessories and equipment for dogs and cats. Such as collars, leashes, harnesses, bowls, products for fur care, sweets, chewing bones, etc. Since we have this small shop as an extra service to our customers, we keep prices low. We of course take-home products to order if there is something you are missing.

Here you will also find over-the-counter products such as ointments, ear cleansers, vitamins, medical shampoos, milk replacers, glucosamine, and probiotic products, wound washing, bandages, and more.

POLYCLINIC

Our polyclinic is the first place you come to with your animal. This is where we do first investigations.

Vaccinations chip / id marking and inspections are also done here. Based on the basic examination, the veterinarian decides whether the animal needs more detailed examinations or samples, X-rays, ultrasounds, blood or urine samples, etc. If the animal is in very poor condition, it may need to be admitted for observation and / or intensive care.

COMPUTER TOMOGRAPHY

Mjönäs Djurklinik was the first clinic in Värmland with advanced computer tomography (CT-Scanner).

Computer tomography is an imaging technique based on X-rays that can map exact cross-sections of the body. This can be seen as three-dimensional images on the computer where you can scale off and on the different layers of the body such as skin, muscles, etc. to be able to see the parts you are interested in. This can provide very valuable information in diagnostics and a fantastic complement to digital X-rays and ultrasound.

X-RAY

We have access to digital X-rays at the clinic. X-rays can give us very useful information where we can see bone fractures, organs, lungs, heart, abdomen and pregnancy.

Sometimes it is possible that we need to give sedation to your animal in order to get the pictures as accurate as possible. We perform hip and elbow x-rays and send to SKK (Swedish Kennel Club) for assessment. If you have booked an appointment for the SKK X-ray, it is important that you bring registration paper with you to your animal and that you have your dog fasting 12 hours before the X-ray.

ULTRASOUND

We perform many different examinations with the help of ultrasound, e.g. examination of organs, uterus, bladder, and determining pregnancy.

An ultrasound examination is not something that hurts or is troublesome for the animal. It goes calmly and quietly. Larger animals may lie on a soft mat on the floor while smaller animals may lie on a soft mat on a table. The examination room is extinguished and the animal may need to shave a little on the stomach before the contact gel is applied to the animals stomach.

LABORATORY

In our own laboratory at the clinic, we can perform samples such as blood tests, urine tests, microscopy examinations and stool tests.

With our own laboratory, we can quickly get test results, which leads to the veterinarians getting a better overall picture of the sick animal more quickly and then being able to deploy appropriate medicine and treatment more quickly. In the laboratory, we perform everything from blood, urine and stool tests. We can also do several different tests such as progesterone.

OPERATION

At the clinic we have three operating rooms. One allround operationroom, one specialized for Laparascopy and one specialized for orthopedy. We also have a pre-operationroom,  here most of the preparations for the procedures are performed.

We have the opportunity to put your animal under gas anesthesia, which is the safest way to put the animal under anesthesia. Here we have full control over how the animal gets through the anesthesia via our state-of-the-art equipment.

We perform all types of abdominal, laparascopic and orthopedic surgeries.

ORTHOPEDICS

Unfortunately, many animals today have problems with the musculoskeletal system, which can lead to problems with joints, tendons, muscles, and bones.

Lameness is often a symptom of pain. Orthopedics is therefore, an essential part in our clinic.

Common problems:

  • Cruciate ligament injury
  • Arthritis
  • Patella Luxation
  • Fractures

LAPARASCOPIC SURGERY

Laparascopic surgery is used in various types of operations in the abdominal cavity.

During the last 20 years this technology has become increasingly common on the human side, as this technology is gentler on the patient and the healing process is much faster than in e.g. an operation with an normal abdominal incision.

We use this technique in the following situations: sterilization of bitches, establishing a diagnosis, inguinal hernia, and when a biopsy needs to be taken.

LASER SURGERY

Mjönäs Djurklinik also uses laser surgery which is the latest technology in surgery.

With this technology, we can operate on hard-to-reach areas such as the nose, throat, bladder. Mjönäs Djurklinik is one of the few clinics in Sweden that works with laser surgery. For questions about if laser surgery is something for your animal, you are always welcome to contact us.

DENTAL CARE

A routine dental checkup is a important part of your animals healthcare.

In our clinic in Mjönäs we have a special room for this kind of treatments.

Our dental room is equipped with:

  • Specialized digital dental röntgen
  • Specialized dental laser system for surgery and tooth treatment
  • Dental burr and tooth-stone installation
  • We have our own computer tomography which can also be used for diagnose

Dental care is essential to keep your animal healthy and happy.

LASER THERAPY

We can offer our patients the latest technology of laser therapy treatment. Physicians have used this technology for several years and there is research that shows that the technology also works excellently for animals.

Laser is light with a specific wavelength that activates the cells in the body at different levels depending on the wavelength. The biological effects of laser therapy are:

  • Reduces pain
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Accelerates the healing process
  • Stimulate blood circulation locally
  • Reduces scar tissue

REHAB

For patients who have problems with the musculoskeletal system due to chronic illness, injury after an accident, or after surgery, we can offer a rehab package.

Each patient can be offered a tailored program consisting of, for example:

  • Water Treadmill
  • Laser therapy
  • Massage
  • Cell therapy
  • Balance training

WATER TREADMILL

At the clinic, we can offer the water treadmill for both injured and healthy animals.

In the water treadmill the dog walks on a conveyor belt that is filled with water so the dog can work but without any pressure on the joints. For e.g., cruciate ligament surgery, it is perfect to use the water treadmill as rehabilitation. The purpose is to help the healing process and to rebuild the muscles after a successful operation. We also use the water treadmill on healthy animals that, for example, need to lose weight without the joints being damaged.

New technology to treat several problems with the body’s forces!

ACP stands for Autologous Conditioned Plasma Arthrex ACP.

  • Uses the natural healing process of the body itself
  • Reduces the need for medication
  • Does not affect the kidneys, stomach, and intestines
